Whilst on a recent trip to Tasmania I happened upon a book that nicely compiled the British regiments that served in Van Dieman’s Land (Tasmania) during the 19th century.
Followers of this blog recall the extensive series on I did on the Australian Frontier Wars.
The book, published by a reenactment society, is used as a ‘manual’ for uniform information by its members. As it compiles all regiments from the 1804 to 1870 it is particularly useful as a ‘one source’ guide to regiments that served in and their specific uniforms. It was only $20AUD making it quite reasonably priced.
I’ve included a number of sample pages below that might be of interest.
